Beauty queen’s plan to prevent cancer deaths
There is a personal reason beauty entrepreneur Allison Pickering is rallying for prostate cancer.
Pickering’s father, John, is a cancer survivor, which prompted her to dig deep with her Mx Skincare unisex brand through September.
Some $2 from each sale will go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, with Pickering hoping to raise a lot of cash to aid research, awareness and support.
In Australia, 72 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each day, while around 11 men will die from the disease each day. “My dad had no symptoms,” Pickering said. “What saved him was going for a yearly blood test … it is that simple.”
